We are all Sloopies in our own way.
Do you have a love for Romantasy books? You are a Sloopy.
We all have two kinds of sloopy residing within us. The first kind is the kind that stays up late reading about love stories between magical creatures and the second kind is the kind that stays up late reading fairy porn.
Ok some maybe it’s a spectrum, but one thing we all love is Romantasy, but some take it bit more seriously than the rest of us, and so that makes them Sloopy, but also we find ourselves engaging in a lot of sloopy behaviour as well.
Beyond that, you’ll just have to make it up as you go along.
Where did Sloopy come from?
It has nothing to do with the song or the vessel. It came from our little corner of the internet.
Quite simply, someone was arguing about some romantasy point on the internet (reddit, to be exact) and one person said their argument was ‘Sloppy’, but typed it as “Sloopy”, to which the only response was “Ok, Sloopy”
It was the perfect response to a dumb argument on Romantasy, and was quickly picked up and adopted by all.
Should you be upset about being referred to as a Sloopy? Not at all! wear it like a badge of honour. You deserve it.
Other ridiculous abbreviations (ongoing)
Sloopies love to use completely ridiculous acronyms and abbreviations because it’s the internet and it’s what we do. You’ll find these used in a lot of reviews and rants.
